Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills looked liked their old selves again on Sunday, as they handily beat their AFC East rival New York Jets, 32-6, at Highmark Stadium. The victory gives the Bills a winning record of 6-5 through the first 11 weeks of the 2023 season.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott applauded the all-around team effort, as Buffalo looks to stay in the playoff hunt through the final six games of the year.
It all started on the opening kickoff for the Bills with a fumble recovery that helped start Buffalo's dominance in Orchard Park.
"I really thought that the kickoff set the tone for the entire game," said McDermott after the win. "Great job by our kickoff team. Reggie Gilliam, I think, was the player that caused the fumble and it went on from there."
During the Bills' struggles over the last several weeks, they have not been playing good "complementary" football. That was not the case this week, as Buffalo came out with a strong team game, totaling 393 yards of total offense and causing four Jets turnovers (two fumbles and two interceptions).

McDermott believes the key to stringing some more wins together is playing that consistent good team football.
"Came in here, and we knew we were going to need a team effort," McDermott said. "We really haven't played team football over the last x-amount of week, with the turnovers and what not, and I'll just start there. The guys were adamant and intentional about making sure we play good team football."
Joe Brady made his debut on Sunday as the Bills' interim offensive coordinator after the team relieved Ken Dorsey of his duties on Tuesday. McDermott held high praise for Brady, as he stepped into a bigger role with the Bills for the first time this week.
"Joe picked up where we needed him to right away," McDermott said. "When we made the switch, there was no hesitation. He went right to the offensive staff, and the staff really came together and collaborated in a team and effective way. I saw a healthy dose of leadership from Joe, and then Joe's relationship with Josh [Allen], and it was important with his communication during the week, and making sure that Josh was in-sync with the game plan."
