Buffalo, NY (WGR Sports Radio 550) - After a demanding victory against the New York Jets last Sunday in the Meadowlands, the Bills return home on a short week to take on the Miami Dolphins for Thursday Night Football.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott joined Sal Capaccio on the Northtown Automotive Extra point show to discuss injuries and how the week has been for the team in a condensed state.
"Well, it's a little bit different. You want to be able to go through the game the right way after any game. In this case, you know, we watched the film on the plane ride home, about an hour plane ride give or take, from New York. So you're able only able to get in so much of film during that time span but you're trying to catch the big things, if that makes sense, to make sure that we can get those addressed and move forward in a better way."
One big loss from the contest last week, linebacker Matt Milano took an early exit. The team later confirmed that it was a pectoral injury and he would be questionable going forward. He has now been confirmed to be out for the Dolphins game, along with defensive tackle Ed Oliver who is dealing with an ankle injury.
"Unfortunately, he will not be able to make it this week, so he will be out for this weekend's contest... Same for Ed Oliver, he will not be out there for the game. We'll see for both of those guys, what next week looks like."
McDermott went into more detail on Milano's timeline.
"What I've been told is it's too early until they really see how this thing settles in, if you will, or or plays itself out in terms of the days following the injury. I think that'll have a direct impact on how long he's out."
