Dr. Jenn's Tips on How To Not Go Crazy During Quarantine

Dr. Jenn joins Ally and James Simmons to discuss what being in quarantine is like for families and couples.

Couples are driving each other crazy and it's only been a few days; kids have to stay home now that schools are closed and this can be a lot to deal with so Dr. Jenn has some advice for you.

For kids that want to be outside: provide consistency and structure.  Go over the next day's schedule each night.  Idle time is great for creative time. Make sure your kids have a sense of purpose and know what's coming next.

It's also important to keep your children active as well as yourself. Turn on youtube and find a yoga class or a jump roping class for you and your kids.

Allow kids social time by facetiming with friends and making TikToks.

For you and your partner: make a date with friends seperately. Go into differentg rooms and have your own time with your friends then come back and share different stories with each other. Come up with projects to work on like cleaning out the garage. And, take turns with the kids!

For your own alone time, take extra time in the shower, put on a face mask and watch your favorite show. Take an hour for yourself every day.

Remember to have compassion when a loved one is freaking out or stressed and give them a hug.
