It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and new studies are showing that better and more inclusive sex education can support LGBTQ kids' mental health. The new study published in the American Journal of Sexuality Education found a lack of inclusivity in sex ed was associated with more anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies in LGBTQ people both in high school and later in life. So basically sex ed that excludes inclusivity is very damaging! Joining us on Let's Go There, Greg Keiser and Steven Hobaica, both clinical psychologists in training in a Ph.D. program at Washington State University who conducted the study.
