Dr. Alisia G.T.T. Tran, an associate professor of counseling and counseling psychology at Arizona State University, joins Let's Go There to teach us how to address microaggressions in a healthy way.

According to professor of counseling psychology at Columbia University, Dr. Derald Wing Sue, microaggressions are every day insults that members of marginalized groups experience in their day-to-day interactions with individuals who are often unaware that they have engaged in an offensive or demeaning way.


According to Dr. Alisia G.T.T. Tran, the first step is to recognize that one has occured. For example: when a white person clutches their purse closer as a darker-skinned person walks by them.
