We have seen Marvel try and include an LGBTQ character before, but never as a lead.
Until now... Marvel Studio's president, Kevin Feige confirmed on Saturday at San Diego's Comic-Con, that the Valkyrie character will indeed be gay or bi in the upcoming Thor sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder. Valkyrie will be played by out actress, Tessa Thompson. Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to be in theaters by 2021. The film will also star Natalie Portman, portraying Thor!
This is big for the LGBTQ+ community, and CHANNEL Q looks forward to watching Marvel's very first leading LGBTQ+ character grace us on the big screen.
