Pet expert, Doc Halligan joined AJ and Mikalah to discuss preparing your pets for quarantine and how you can help if you aren't a pet owner.
Doc Halligan wants everyone to know the myth that your pets can get coronavirus or that you can give your pets coronavirus is not true. There are no reports from the CDC of any animals contracting COVID-19.
However, if you are in isolation- meaning that you have coronavirus, then you should have someone else take care of your pet. But, if you are quarantined then right now is a great time to get a disaster plan together for your pet, and even teach your furry bff a new trick!
If you don't have a pet, then Doc Halligan suggests to adopt one or foster one even if it's for a week. A lot of shelters are hurting right now because they are limiting the amount of workers, so it is possible that euthanasia rates will increase.
You can also help by donating supplies to your local shelters such as blankets and food.
Vet hospitals will remain open. So if your pet needs help, please to not hesitate.
