AJ and Mikalah had the opportunity this week to ask "What's Goin' on?" to Hall-of-Fame Songwriter and singer Linda Perry as they had a wide ranging interview on The Morning Beat. Linda opened up about the difficulties of touring musicians while bringing up something the hosts never thought of. They later discussed whether or not Linda was on dating websites (she's not), whether she's writing new music (she is!) and on the importance of Pride this year even if we are quarantined.
Perry discussed the important work her company, We are Hear, is doing for musicians and she discussed a little known problem for musicians that planned to tour.

"You have all these new bands coming out...they spend everything on getting new gear, hiring roadies..and the SCHOOM! it all gets taken away" Perry stated. "If you're Dave Grohl or Katy Perry, you guys are fine, but a new artist, it's very hard to survive." She goes on to tell how to support those young bands by buying merch and supporting those younger acts that are most vulnerable.

The former 4 Non Blondes singer got personal with AJ on a question about dating websites. When she asked if she has joined one, Perry jokingly exclaimed, "What the hell is wrong with you AJ? I'm barely divorced!" She dives into the amazing job she and her ex-wife, actress Sara Gilbert are doing co-parenting their together son during the pandemic. " Nah, nah nah, we're all good. We just had a picnic together. I love her, she loves me there's no weirdness here."
