Palm Springs Mayor, Geoff Kors, on the New Shelter-in-Place Order for the City

Mayor Kors Talks the New Shelter-in-Place for Palm Springs

Mayor Kors says the new shelter-in-place order for Palm Springs is to stop the spread because as of yesterday there are 15 cases of coronavirus and 3 deaths in the Coachella Valley.

He sayd the rate of increase in sections is growing and there is a lack of testing kits so it is important to practice social distancing, especially because 40% of Palm Springs citizens are 60 years and older.

Mayor Kors says that the people of Palm Springs can still go outside and that essential businesses such as healthcare and grocery stores will still be open.
