Anheuser-Busch has pulled its sponsorship of PrideFest after more than 30 years leaving the festival $150,000 short of last year's funding.
Pride St. Louis expressed deep disappointment, calling the decision "especially painful" as many sponsors are already cutting back their contributions. This marks the second time in a month the beer giant has withdrawn from a Pride event, following its decision to back out of San Francisco's 2025 Pride celebration.
It's clear this is likely a response to conservative backlash for their support of LGBTQ+ rights.
In response, The owners of Rehab Bar and Grill and Greenfinch Theater and Dive announced they will no longer carry Anheuser-Busch products, with the latter donating a portion of beer sales to local LGBTQ+ groups.
