Chi Chi DeVayne, born Zavion Davenport has sadly lost his battle with on-going health struggles, unrelated to COVID-19.

The Shreveport, Louisiana native quickly became a drag community icon for his bold and beautiful personality, and outstanding performances on the successful reality competition TV series, RuPaul's Drag Race. DeVayne made it to the top four on the eighth season of RPDR and returned to the All-Stars competition during its third season.

Chi Chi was well remembered for his incredible lip-sync moment on RPDR season eight, where he poured his heart out to Dream Girls' " And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." Davenport was an incredible dancer, and a glamorous lip-sync assassin. Shortly after the season ended the queen rose the ranks of drag race stardom, and cultivated a devoted fan base.

The beloved RPDR queen and all-star, had been in and out of the hospital earlier this summer dealing with high blood pressure and kidney failure. DeVayne battled with the autoimmune disease scleroderma. Chi Chi was readmitted to the hospital after coming down with pneumonia. Sadly, the 34-year-old died from the complications that pneumonia brought on.

Drag Race sisters and supporters have taken to social media to share their love for Zavion throughout his stints in the hospital and have shared ways to help the queen cover medical costs. Now many are sharing memories of Chi Chi and expressing that Zavion Davenport has been taken from us too soon.

We are sending love to Chi Chi's family and friends and the whole drag community.
