Queer Women and LGBTQ Allies Dominate 67th Grammy Awards

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards is shining brightly on queer artists with multiple noms across various categories.

Breakout pop sensation Chappell Roan led the charge with six nominations, including nods for Song of the Year for her hit "Good Luck, Babe!" (co-written with Justin Tranter), as well as Record of the Year, Album of the Year and winning Best New Artist!!


Chappell isn't alone at the top—Billie Eilish also received multiple nominations, with seven in total, including Album and Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Guess" with Charli XCX.

Our boy Troye's "Got Me Started" earned a nomination for Best Pop Recording. Additionally, Anitta's Funk Generation is up for Best Latin Pop Album, and Cardi B is nominated for Best Rap Performance for "Enough (Miami)."

Rapper Doechii earned nominations for Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, and winning Best Rap Album of the Year! while St. Vincent also took home trophies in the Best Rock Performance category.

Other notable LGBTQ+ artists nominated this year include Meshell Ndegeocello, Brittany Howard, Kaytranada, Green Day, Judas Priest, and Durand Bernarr.

LGBTQ+ allies Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX also earned multiple nominations, adding to the star-studded list with Lady Gaga receiving two noms for her duet with Bruno Mars "Die With a Smile."
