Just how safe do members of the LGBTQ+ community feel in Pittsburgh?

A new survey out of Lancaster asked thousands of people within the queer community about their perceptions of safety and acceptance, depending on where they live.

The report measured general components of safety, including acceptance, fear of police, safety in gathering, violence and discrimination.

And apparently, Pittsburgh has some work to do.

The Franklin & Marshall College report found that Pittsburgh received a high "C" grade for how safe it felt to the LGBTQ+ community.

There is a silver lining, Respondents found the city to be 6 percent safer than the U.S.
average, and safer than other Pennsylvania cities, including Philadelphia.
