In a legal victory for a Texas doctor, and a blow to the trans community federal prosecutors have dropped charges against a doctor who had been accused of illegally obtaining private patient information and sharing it with a conservative activist. Dr. Ethan Haim, who had previously worked at Texas Children's Hospital, claimed to be a whistleblower on transgender care for minors. The case was dismissed in a Houston federal court, just as the Trump administration rolled back transgender rights in its first week in office. Dr.
Haim had faced up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Texas Children's Hospital stated that it respects the Justice Department's decision, while emphasizing that it provided care in accordance with the law. More here from the AP
