Singer Billie Eilish has finally unveiled details surrounding her highly-anticipated follow-up to 2021's GRAMMY-nominated Happier Than Ever.

Billie Eilish has announced her third studio album, titled Hit Me Hard and Soft, is set to arrive on May 17 via Darkroom/Interscope Records, and will not be preceded by any singles before the official drop, believing the record will be best appreciated by listening to it in its entirety.
"Finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it," Eilish said when revealing the details on her social channels. "Not doing singles i wanna give it to you all at once"

According to a press release, the album "does exactly as the title suggests: hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while bending genres and defying trends along the way," and "journeys through a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners into a full spectrum of emotions."
Hit Me Hard and Soft was written by Eilish along with her brother/collaborator, FINNEAS, who also produced the album. The reveal follows a series of billboard teases that began popping up last week, which had fans on the edge of their seats waiting for the official news to come. Eilish's last album, Happier Than Ever, was nominated for two GRAMMYs, and took home the 2022 MTV Video Music Award for Album of the Year. Billie and FINNEAS also took home their second Academy Award this year, receiving Best Original Song for their Barbie soundtrack single “What Was I Made For.”
