Jared Polis the Dem Colorado governor who also happens to be gay, surprised and pissed off many across the political spectrum, including many of his constituents - straight and queer alike. People were left shaking their heads after Polis he was seen to be celebrating Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s appointment to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Polis tweeted that he was "excited by the news" that Trump has chosen anti-vaccine and anti-trans Kennedy to be secretary of Health and Human Services. It wasn't too long ago the Democrat was pointing out Kennedy was a danger.
A spokesperson for Polis told The Advocate that "Governor Polis has not changed his views as a whole on RFK Jr. or on the Governor's previously stated concerns regarding some of RFK Jr's positions."
He went onto to tell the Advocate that "While opposed to RFK's positions on a host of issues, including vaccines and banning fluoridation, he would appreciate seeing action on pesticides and efforts to lower prescription drug costs." That may not be enough to quell the anger considering Kennedy is an anti-trans, AIDS denying COVID-19 conspiracy nut… Good luck with that walk back, Polis. More here from the Advocate
