Kim Kardashian is once again channeling Marilyn Monroe on the red carpet, though this time instead of wearing the bombshell’s dress at the Met Gala, she’s giving a modern twist to one of Monroe’s signature outfits.
On Saturday, Kardashian attended the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles and donned a hot pink strapless satin gown reminiscent of Monroe’s iconic outfit in the classic “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” scene in the 1953 film “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.”
The SKIMS mogul modernized the look, opting for a subtler amount of accessories than Monroe’s stack of glittering necklaces and bracelets, adorning herself with just one piece of jewelry- a diamond necklace with a teardrop-shaped pendant.

However, Kardashian pumped up the drama in other ways with the gown’s long train and, instead of matching Monroe’s signature pink gloves, a dash of moodiness with black opera gloves.
A slicked back ponytail and bronzy makeup with a smoky eye completed the ensemble for the reality star.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has gone for an all-pink look recently (after all, this is the year of the “Barbie” movie), rocking a sparkling light pink gown to the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner in New York City in September, and dressing up in a bright pink catsuit with waist-high matching pink boots in April, when she teased that she was channeling the original Pink Power Ranger, fittingly named Kimberly.
