There is little question that the Patriots were THE team of the decade in the NFL for the 2010s.
Bill Belichick’s squad ignited the second half of its 20-year dynasty with five trips to the Super Bowl from2 2010-2019, winning three.
As such, it’s no surprise that New England is well represented on at least one media outlet’s all-decade team.
In fact, when you include everyone who played at least some time in New England, there are six Patriots’ representatives on the all-decade roster put together by the Talk of Fame Network.
That list is obviously led by quarterback Tom Brady.
“The first name you pencil in for this team – or any NFL history team, for that matter – is Brady,” longtime and well-respected NFL reporter Rick Gosselin writes. “He went to nine Pro Bowls and took the New England Patriots to five Super Bowls in the 2010 decade, winning three of them. He was a two-time NFL MVP and became the one of only two active players named to the league’s 100th anniversary team.”
The other career Patriots on the list include tight end Rob Gronkowski and Pro Bowl special teams ace Matthew Slater.
“Brady and Gronkowski shared a trifecta,” Gosselin writes. “They were teammates on the Patriots, the NFL's 100th anniversary team and this all-decade team. In 2011 Gronk produced the greatest season ever by an NFL tight end, catching 90 passes for 1,327 yards and 17 touchdowns.”
Former New England first-round pick and noted pass rusher Chandler Jones earns a spot on the team at outside linebacker.
