It appears that the first of the Celtics’ four draft picks has reached a contract agreement.

The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn reported Tuesday that Tremont Waters has agreed to a two-way contract with the Celtics.

Waters, who was Boston’s selection at No. 51 overall (second round), likely won’t see much time with the Celtics next season. But, he has been performing well in the Summer League so far, helping lift Boston to victories against both the 76ers and the Cavaliers. Although there have only been two games, he is averaging 10 points and 3.5 assists. Waters is easy to spot with bright pink sneakers, which rarely stop moving while he’s on the court.

Back in college, he averaged 15.3 points and 5.9 assists for Louisiana State last season. Despite being 5-foot-11, Waters' defensive efforts are strong, and he was even named the SEC Defensive player of the Year in his 2018-19 campaign.

The next Celtics Summer League game is Tuesday night at 8 p.m. against the Nuggets.
