Bruins announce six-game preseason schedule for September


The Bruins played until June 12 but came one win shy of winning the Stanley Cup.

One of the few rewards they get for reaching Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final but coming up short against the St. Louis Blues is a somewhat abbreviated preseason schedule in the fall.

The Bruins announced Tuesday they will play a six-game exhibition season in September 2019, starting with a Sept. 16 road date with the New Jersey Devils. The Bruins will play three games on the road and three at TD Garden.

This past season the Bruins, who sent half their team to China for two exhibition games with the Calgary Flames, played eight games in the preseason, including the split-squad contests. They played seven preseason games in each of the previous three seasons.
