When will 2020 NFL schedule be released?

It's almost April, which usually means the release of the NFL schedule is right around the corner.

But, that seems unlikely this year.

In a normal year, the schedule is released roughly a week before the draft, but according to NBC Sports' Peter King, the league is likely to push it back due to concerns that the coronavirus pandemic could have an impact on the season.

The draft will go on as scheduled from April 23-25.

King threw out a theory where the league would back load the schedule with divisional games in case the league had to shorten the season to 12 or 14 games since those are the ones that mean the most. Another thing to consider is the league will want to make sure each team has the same number home and away games if the schedule were to be shortened, so that is something to consider as well when putting it together.

Roger Goodell is scheduled to hold a conference call with league executives Tuesday where part of the agenda is voting on expanding the playoffs for the 2020 season, so some updates on the schedule and other matters could also come out as well.
