Through the draft and free agency, the Patriots had a very successful offseason last year.

In fact, so good that Bill Belichick was named the Pro Football Writers of America's Executive of the Year.

This is the first PFWA Executive of the Year honor for Belichick, and the third Executive of the Year honor for the Patriots (GM Scott Pioli in 2003 and 2007) since the award was established in 1993.

Belichick brought in a number of veterans who contributed this past season, including Matthew Judon, Kyle Van Noy and Kendrick Bourne. And then through the draft added impact players like Mac Jones, Christian Barmore and Rhamondre Stevenson.

In addition, the PFWA named Mike Vrabel Coach of the Year and Dan Quinn Assistant Coach of the Year.
