NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah doesn't like Mac Jones to Patriots at No. 15, or in Round 1 for any team

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones has been a popular name for the Patriots in the upcoming NFL Draft, with some predicting him being selected with the No. 15 overall pick.

Appearing on Mut at Night Wednesday with Mike Mutnansky and Andy Hart, NFL Network draft expert Daniel Jeremiah doesn't like that. In fact, he doesn't view Jones as a first-round selection at all.

“We’re going to see what happens with the quarterback carousel, but when I hear that Carolina has tried to make calls on quarterbacks, you hear that Denver, picking at No. 9, has been hunting around some veteran quarterbacks, San Francisco, whether it’s [Jimmy Garoppolo] or trying to get somebody else," he said. "A lot of these teams are dancing around with the existing crop in the NFL.

“I think Zach Wilson is going to go up there with Trevor Lawrence. I think both those guys are pretty secure to go up there in the top five. And then I think we could see a little bit of a drop and potentially see [Justin] Fields and [Trey] Lance, whatever order you have them, go. But, I [do] not think we [will] see Mac Jones in the first half of the first round. I just can’t see that. To me, maybe he finds his way and sneaks into the backend of one, but when I watched him I thought he was more of a second-round type player.”

Relating to the NFL offseason, Jeremiah expects a lot of QB movement.

“There’s so much chatter. I would be shocked if we don’t see massive movement," he said. "There’s just too much going on.”

The Patriots will certainly be involved, as it seems very likely they will have a new quarterback for 2021.
