Patriots sign tight end who spent some time with team in 2020

On Friday, Patrick Chung's retirement became official and the Patriots wasted no time filling his spot on the roster.

New England signed tight end David Wells, who spent a week on the practice squad last November.

The 26-year-old joined the NFL as an undrafted rookie in 2018 and has spent time on the Cowboys' and Chiefs' practice squads. He's yet to play in a NFL game.

The Patriots will begin training camp next Wednesday.
