It looks like the Yankees' early-season magic may have finally ran out.
After a strong start to the year despite playing extremely short-handed, New York has now lost seven of their last 10 games.
However, reinforcements are right around the corner.
Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge have both been assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, as Stanton continues his rehab assignment while Judge is set to begin his own, the team announced Friday.
Stanton has not appeared in a game for the Yankees since March 31 when he suffered a strained left biceps. After beginning his rehab assignment in mid-May, the slugger suffered a strained left calf in his first minor league game.
In two rehab games for Single-A Tampa earlier this week, Stanton went 4-for-7 with three home runs and four RBIs.
Judge has been on the injured list with a left oblique strain since April 20.
Prior to the injury, the 27-year-old outfielder was hitting .288/.404/.521 with five home runs and 11 RBIs.
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will be visiting the Durham Bulls this weekend, and the presence of Stanton and Judge should provide minor league baseball fans with quite the treat.
