Boomer & Gregg had quite a night of baseball to discuss Thursday morning, as the Yankees got a much needed win up at Fenway in a game that will be remembered for a brawl. As for the Mets, it's beginning to seem like maybe they can't lose. Mickey Callaway's crew came from behind to top the Marlins 4-1, improving to 10-1 in the process.
"That is Yankees-Red Sox, and that is exactly what the Yankees needed," Boomer said on last night's brawl. "After getting drilled the day before, and Tanaka giving up a ding-dong again and not pitching well last night, the Yankees needed to show some emotion. Tyler Austin, say what you want about him, it doesn't matter. What he did last night, that's emotion. Slamming the bat down, going right at the pitcher, and let's go."
All of that and after finishing off the Cavs in the team's season finale, the Knicks have fired Jeff Hornacek, so let the coaching search begin.
