The Giants found their replacement for Odell Beckham Jr. on Thursday by adding veteran Golden Tate. But what does that mean for the direction Big Blue is headed?
WFAN's Gregg Giannotti said Friday morning he likes Tate as a player, but he's concerned that signing the former Seahawks and Lions wide receiver might signal that the Giants, who have won eight games in two years, aren't actually rebuilding.
"Are they going to do the same thing they did last year and not take a quarterback again (in the draft) and now go out in September of 2019 thinking they're going to win the division?" Giannotti said. "Is that where they're at? Where are you?"
Meanwhile, Giannotti's co-host, Boomer Esiason, said the Tate move was a "solid signing."

"He's not Odell Beckham Jr., I know that," Esiason said. "He's not as flamboyant. He's not nearly the player that Odell is. He doesn't have the flair for the dramatic, but I'll tell you one thing: In Detroit he and Matthew Stafford really had something special."
Esiason added that quarterback Eli Manning should be happy about the addition of Tate.
"I understand that the guy that you're trading away does not want to play with me, so let's get him out of there," Esiason imagine Manning thinking. "But at least get me another guy to replace him that I can count on. And I think that's exactly what the Giants did here."
