'Boomer & Gio' got Thursday's radio program started while wearing their Mets' fandom of their sleeves while venting their frustration with Brodie Van Wagenen and the not so 'Amazin' Mets.
From there we heard about the Knicks, who hold the No. 3 pick in tonight's NBA Draft and will presumably select R.J. Barrett, out of Duke – at least they better!!!
The expectation after the Pelicans take Zion Williamson with the No. 1 pick is that the Grizzlies take Murray State point guard Ja Morant. The Knicks are then expected to take Barrett. The Knicks don't always go with what is expected or presumed though. Barrett is the obvious choice and the one the Knicks should make. Barrett was right next to Zion as the best college player on the planet.
If the Knicks go in another direction or trade the pick, they would have missed the ball yet again in the NBA Draft. They have failed the fan base before with picks they have made. From Michael Sweetney to Jordan Hill to most recently, Frank Ntilikina. If Barrett is there at No. 3, the Knicks better take him.
