'Boomer & Gio' got Friday's radio program started with the Mets decision to fire both their bullpen and pitching coach and Gregg had a lot to say about new pitching coach Phil Regan.
The Mets fired Dave Eiland and Chuck Hernandez and replaced them with 82-year-old Regan and their former bullpen coach Ricky Bones. Regan was legally drinking in 50's and was part of the 1969 Cubs that lost to the Mets. Why did they not just fire Mickey Callaway?
