It was a lot of baseball at the top of the morning, as Gregg had Jerry Recco to his right while the Booms was off, presumably out being Boomer somewhere. We got up to speed with the Mets. While introducing his new catcher, Wilson Ramos, Brodie Van Wagenen shared that "internally" the belief is they are the team to beat in the NL East, so that's now out there. The Yankees have hired Carlos Beltran as a special assistant, just prior to their sit-down with Manny Machado (hmmm), the Nets topped the Lakers for their sixth win in a row, Al Dukes may or may not have a complicated relationship with his town, Joe Benigno is a unique character, Mike Piazza has a midlife crisis, Penny Marshall passes away, it turns out that Jerry can't get enough of the movie "Titanic" and often travels with a motivational speaker as his companion (not Al Dukes), Gio's taste in music is evolving and much more.
