'Boomer & Gio': A Word To The Kevin Durant Haters

By WFAN.com

The Golden State Warriors are in pursuit of the team's third consecutive championship, but that has not slowed down the rampant rumors surrounding Kevin Durant.

Durant has been unbelievable this postseason, averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 51.3% from the field and 41.6% from the three-point line.

Despite his superb play, the biggest story involving the superstar has been his upcoming free agency.

While no one knows for sure what the 30-year-old may decide to do this summer, the Knicks have emerged as one of the favorites to land the 6-foot-9 forward.

Many New York fans are thrilled with the prospect of Durant calling Madison Square Garden home. However, it does not seem as if all of the Knicks faithful are on-board with the team signing the two-time Finals MVP.

"Boomer & Gio" discussed the possibility of Durant signing with the Knicks Thursday, and after fielding multiple calls from people who were attempting to downplay how good Durant is, Gio decided enough was enough.

"It drives me crazy," Gio said during a rant Thursday about some Knicks fans not wanting Durant. "We haven't had anything nice for the Knicks in years and years and years, and there's a guy who could be the best player in the sport, arguably, who won back-to-back Finals MVPs and championships, who reportedly wants to be on the New York Knicks, and we've got multiple balloon heads calling us saying they don't want him because he chokes because he missed one three-pointer at the end of a game against the Rockets the other night...

"Do you see what's happened to the Oklahoma City Thunder since he left? They can't get out of the first round! They can't get out of the first fricken round of the playoffs, and he's winning championships left and right. He's averaging 45 minutes per game, he's the leading-scorer on the gosh darn Warriors, and these people are saying he's a choke artist. What is wrong with you?"
