What more can you say about these Yankees, these first-place Yankees? The Bombers came from behind to beat the Red Sox (the second-place Red Sox) 9-6 in the Bronx on Wednesday night, and thus far, somehow this team has exceeded expectations.
Then we have the Mets, who after starting off 11-1 have done very little in endearing themselves to their fan base, and Wednesday afternoon’s batting order gaffe certainly didn’t help matters.
All of that set the table for Boomer and Gio to do their Thursday morning thing.
