With the Yankees getting set to host the Red Sox (and their 11 1/2-game lead in the AL East) for a three-game series at the Stadium, it's safe to say these are not the circumstances we had imagined would surround the late-season matchup.


Instead of battling for the division, it turns out the Yankees will just be hoping to prevent Boston from celebrating in the Bronx while holding off the surging A's in order to host the wild-card game. It looks like Aaron Judge could return to a full-time role sooner rather than later, so that's good -- but Gregg needs to see something out of this team soon if it is to be taken seriously come October.

Then it was on to Eli Manning and the 0-2 Giants and, really, what can you say?  Boomer thinks it's time for the Giants' mild-mannered quarterback to show some passion, maybe take a page out of Tom Brady's playbook and play with an edge.

All of that and the Blond Bomber gave Al Dukes some gambling advice with regard to the Jets' Thursday night matchup with the Browns in Cleveland.
