CHICAGO (WFAN) -- Fighting is usually reserved for the players on the ice. On Friday, a bizarre incident occurred when the Chicago Blackhawks' mascot engaged in a scrap with a fan.
The team's mascot, Tommy Hawk, was caught on video body-slamming a man and landing a flurry of punches.
A series of Snapchat videos captured the brawl, which unfolded on the concourse.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, police were notified of a disturbance at United Center around 11:15 p.m. on Friday. The police have not made any arrests as of Saturday night.
The Blackhawks released the following statement to the paper:
“We are gathering the facts and will have no further comment at this time, pending our investigation,” the Blackhawks said according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The team introduced Tommy Hawk during the 2001–02 season.
