NEWARK (WFAN) -- The New Jersey Devils placed goalie Cory Schneider on injured reserve Monday due to an abdominal strain.
Schneider has struggled badly this season, going 0-5-1 with a 4.66 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage. On Friday night at home against Vegas, Schneider surrendered three goals on seven shots in the first 10 minutes before being pulled. With Keith Kinkaid in net, the Devils then came back to win 5-4.
Schneider, 32, has not won a regular-season game since Dec. 27, 2017, going 0-15-3 since. He missed time last season with a groin injury and played with torn cartilage in his left hip, which required offseason surgery and caused him to miss the first few weeks of this season.

The Devils called up goalie Mackenzie Blackwood from AHL Binghamton on Monday to take Schneider's place on the roster.
The team has not given a timetable for Schneider's return.
