The Devils have placed forward Jesper Bratt on injured reserve Friday after the 20-year-old right winger broke his jaw during Thursday's practice in Sweden.
The injury will not require surgery, and the forward is expected to miss only two-to-three weeks.
New Jersey signed forward Drew Stafford to a one-year, $810K contract Friday to replace Bratt on the roster.
