— Enes Kanter (@Enes_Kanter) February 13, 2019Kanter, 26, had fallen out of the Knicks roation and made it clear that he wasn't happy about it. Kanter aired his frustrations out publicly and was become a distraction to a young Knicks team focused on rebuilding moreso than winning games.
The Knicks couldn't find a trade partner for him, mostly because of the money remaining on his $18.6 million contract this season. The Knicks waived Kanter on Thursday's trade deadline, and now gets a chance to join a playoff team. The Blazers are currently 33-23 and tied for fourth in the Western Conference. Kanter reportedly had interest from multiple teams, including the Lakers.
