Just a few days after clearing waivers following his release from the Giants, Ereck Flowers has already found a new home.
The former Giants draft bust will be reunited with his first NFL head coach, as the lineman has agreed to a one-year deal with Tom Coughlin and the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Flowers officially cleared waivers this past Tuesday, freeing the 24-year-old to sign with any team.
Jacksonville was his first visit.
While financial terms of the deal have not yet been announced, the Giants will be following this situation closely. Flowers had offset language in his contract with New York, meaning the team would have money kicked back to it's 2018 salary cap situation should the lineman sign with a new team. It likely won't be much, but Flowers' signing with the Jaguars will result in somewhat of an increase in the team's salary cap space this season.
