FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (WFAN) -- The Jets have apparently added another starter to their free agent haul, with former Redskins center Spencer Long expected to sign with the team, WFAN's Brian Costello reported.

A third-round draft pick out of Nebraska in 2014, the 6-foot-5, 318-pound Long was a three-year starter for Washington, although injuries limited him to just seven games last season. He also has experience at guard.

The Jets' starting center from last season, Wesley Johnson, is an unrestricted free agent.

Gang Green was in the need for an upgrade along the offensive line. Last season, the Jets ranked 19th in the NFL in rushing (106.4 yards per game) and gave up the seventh-most sacks (47).

Long is the sixth player with whom the Jets, who entered free agency $92 million under the salary cap, have reportedly agreed to terms in the past two days.

On Tuesday, they added quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, cornerback Trumaine Johnson, linebacker Avery Williamson and running back Isaiah Crowell while re-signing quarterback Josh McCown.
