With no word yet on when the release of the regular season games will take place, the NFL unveiled its full preseason schedule Tuesday afternoon.
The Giants and Jets are set to open up the preseason against each other sometime between August 8-12.
The local teams typically face off in the third week of the preseason. However, due to the two clubs playing each other during the regular season this year, the league decided to move their preseason tilt up to Week 1.
Week 3 of the preseason schedule is the game that teams take most seriously, with starters likely seeing at least one full half of playing time before the reserves take over.
Following the game against the Jets, Big Blue will host the Bears in Week 2 of the preseason, before going on the road for games in Cincinnati and New England.
After the "road" game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium, the Jets will travel to Atlanta for the team's second preseason game. Gang Green will then fly back home for the final two tune-up games before the start of the regular season, where the club will welcome the Saints and Eagles to East Rutherford.
