Martinez socked Yankees' starter J.A. Happ's 94 MPH fastball over the Green Monster.

Boston starter Chris Sale breezed through the first inning, striking out the side. He surrendered one walk.

Sale was charged with two runs on five hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings before being replaced in the sixth inning.

The Red Sox ended up edging the Yankees, 5-4 to win Game 1.
