The Jets announced a couple of moves Tuesday morning to give themselves some depth. They have re-signed tight end Eric Tomlinson and offensive lineman Brent Qvale. They also have signed ex-Bears tight end Daniel Brown.
Tomlinson played in 15 games last season, starting 12 of them before he ended up on injured reserve. Since joining the Jets in 2016, the 26-year old TE has played in 36 games and caught 16 balls for 193 yards and a touchdown. Tomlinson's best feature is his strong blocking ability.
Tomlinson will be joined at tight end by Daniel Brown, who spent the last two and a half seasons with the Bears. The 26-year-old TE has 35 catches, 317 yards and a TD on his career in four seasons with the Ravens and Bears.
Qvale joined the Jets in 2015 after spending a year on the practice squad. The lineman has spent time inside as a guard, but has played predominantly on the outside at tackle the last few seasons, where he has appeared in 60 games and started 14.
The Jets re-signed center Jonotthan Harrison in free agency, signed former Vikings guard Tom Compton and traded for two-time Pro Bowl left guard Kelechi Osemele from the Raiders.
