It appears as if the unsuccessful marriage between Joakim Noah and the Knicks is finally coming to an end.

New York is expected to part ways with the 33-year-old big man before the start of training camp, according to a report by The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The report went on to state the Knicks are continuing to search for a trade partner for Noah, but the waive-and-stretch route is certainly a possibility.

The relationship between Noah and the Knicks has been rocky from the start. The 6-foot-11 center appeared in just 46 games during the 2016-17 season in what was his first year with the team, averaging a mere 5.0 points and 8.8 rebounds in 22.1 minutes per game.

However things took a turn for the worse last season when Noah averaged just 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 5.7 minutes per game, playing in just seven contests despite the big man being healthy. The two-time NBA All-Star also openly feuded with former head coach Jeff Hornacek, leading to the veteran taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team.

There are still two years and $37.8 million left on the four-year, $72 million deal that former Knicks president Phil Jackson signed Noah to back in 2016.

Training camp is set to begin later this month.
