Reports: Landon Collins Will Sign 6-Year, $84 Million Deal With Redskins

By WFAN.com

Landon Collins won't be going too far away from the Giants. According to multiple reports, including ESPN and NFL Network, the ex-Giants safety will sign a six-year, $84 million deal with the Washington Redskins.

Forty-five million dollars of that will be guaranteed and paid out over the first three years. The three-time Pro Bowler with the Giants now heads to their NFC East rival.

The Giants decided not to give Collins the franchise tag, and it ended up working out well for the 25-year-old. It is the richest deal for a safety in NFL history.

Collins had no interceptions in 2018 with Big Blue. In his first four seasons, he had 428 combined tackles, 321 solo tackles, eight interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and three forced fumbles. He was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2016.

According to WFAN's Mike Francesa, the best the Giants could have got for Collins was a fourth-round draft pick if they decided to deal him before the trade deadline last season.
