Hank Azaria stopped by the WFAN studios Tuesday to promote Season 2 of his IFC series "Brockmire," but the Queens native also discussed his Mets, Jets and Knicks.

At one point, Azaria went into character as Jim Brockmire, the extraordinarily flawed minor league baseball announcer, to give his take on the Mets' managing change after last season.

"As happy as I am for Mets fans and Callaway, it was an awkward, unhappy year last season for the Mets," he said. "Terry Collins, he just looked like the stepdad who you know is about to be out of the picture just as soon as Mom gets up the courage to pull the ripcord on him. There's lots of silent car rides and avoided glances, conversations stopping as he entered the locker room.

"And now the Mets, they're dating somebody newer and younger, Mickey Callaway. I hope for everybody's sake -- and I mean this -- that it's not a rebound thing, that the relationship lasts. For the kids. The kids here are the Mets fans. Those are the children in this relationship."

In response to John Sterling's unpopular Giancarlo Stanton home run call, Brockmire also shares some of his more memorable calls.

Azaria, a "Simpsons" voice actor for nearly 30 years, also provided sports-related takes from Moe the bartender, Professor Frink and Comic Book Guy. Click on the audio player above to listen to the interview.
