ATLANTA (WFAN) -- Loyola-Chicago is dancing to the Final Four, and its clinching victory wasn't even close.
The 11th-seeded Ramblers cruised by ninth-seeded Kansas State, 78-62, on Saturday night to win the NCAA tournament's South Region and punch their ticket to the Final Four next weekend in San Antonio.
Loyola (32-5) is the lowest seed to reach the Final Four, matching other No. 11 seeds LSU in 1986, George Mason in 2006 and Virginia Commonwealth in 2011. Its the Ramblers' first Final Four appearance since 1963, when they won their only national championship.
Loyola also knocked off sixth-seeded Miami, third-seeded Tennessee and seventh-seeded Nevada to reach this point of the tournament, but those three victories were decided by a combined four points. Next up for the Ramblers is Michigan, which beat Florida State on Saturday night.
Ben Richardson led Loyola with 23 points. Xavier Sneed had a team-high 16 points for the Wildcats (25-12).
