Francesa: 'Mayfield Doesn't Have A Brain In His Head'

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made some news Tuesday morning when a GQ interview came out where he talked about Giants QB Daniel Jones.

"I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones," Mayfield says in the article. "Blows my mind."

WFAN's Mike Francesa responded to that story to open Tuesday's show, but doesn't think much stock should be put into anything the young Browns QB says.

"As far as Mayfield, why would you be worried about anything Mayfield says. The guy doesn't have a brain in his head. He never has," Francesa said. "Listen to him. You hear the things he says? Not a bad quarterback. Not a bad player. When you listen to him talk, you would rather say 'hey, don't talk. Just go play.' Because he doesn't have a brain in his head. He never has. Now he's trying to recant everything everyone spent hours worrying about this morning, now he's saying he didn't say it. Who cares? I don't care if he says it, didn't say it. I couldn't care less anyway. Jones handled it the right way. Just ignore it. It's worthless anyway. Who cares what he thinks about Daniel Jones?"

Mayfield's newest receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was in the news once again for more comments on the Giants in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

"This wasn't no business move. This was personal. They thought they'd send me here to die," the ex-Giants wideout said.

Francesa has never been a fan of Beckham Jr. and the Browns WR can't seem to forget about the Giants and move on.

"If you're the Browns, how happy can you be his only thoughts are about the Giants? He can not get the fact that he's fixated on the Giants out of his system," Francesa said. "Not until he's on his third team and he will be on his third team some day. Guys like him are always on their third team. Here he is in Cleveland and the only thing he cares about is the fact that the Giants got rid of him. When he was here he wasn't happy, now that he's gone, now all he cares about is the Giants. When he was here he didn't care about the Giants. I didn't want them to give him a big contract in the first place. You know my thoughts on him from the absolute beginning. I was done with him when Coughlin was here. I go way back with that as far as that with Beckham. It took most of the city a long time to catch up to where they had enough of Beckham. I think pretty much everyone has now. They have seen with what he did last year, with what he did after he got the contract, the nonsense he pulled last year and what he's pulling right now.

The Browns are expected to be in contention for a playoff spot this season ... if Beckham Jr. can focus on the task at hand.

"He should be worrying about the fact that they have what they feel is a team that is headed in the right direction for the first time in eons after they have lost forever. They think they are moving in the right direction. Instead of getting ready to try and see what he can build with that young football team, all he cares about is the Giants, which has got to tick the Browns off.

"Who cares what Beckham says about how he got to Cleveland? You're in Cleveland now. Good riddance. That should be what you're worried about. Worry about what the Giants can do this year. Worry about whether they can put defense together that looks like it could get something done."
