On his show Monday, WFAN's Mike Francesa gave his review of Sunday night's Academy Awards.

He believes the academy got it right by awarding best picture to "Green Book."

"At least the movie I wanted to win won, which was nice to see," he said. " ... I thought 'Green Book' was one of the better movies I've seen in recent years. If you haven't seen it, go see it."

Francesa believed Viggo Mortensen of "Green Book" deserved to win best actor, but he didn't have a problem with Rami Malek winning for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in "Bohemian Rhapsody."

"Rami Malek was really good, especially the last 25, 30 minutes of the movie," Francesa said. "It was a very powerful role. It was a good role. It wasn't a great movie, but it was a good role, and he did a heck of a job. So I really thought he was very deserving."

As for the Oscars themselves, Francesa wasn't impressed.

"It wasn't a great show," he said. "First of all, the Oscars are too long. It's just way too long. Secondly, they can't do a good show anymore. They don't have a commanding guy to run the show who everyone's happy with and can live with. Everyone can't live with everyone politically, and it's just, it's terrible. They've really killed the thing."
