The Rangers announced on Monday that forward Pavel Buchnevich will miss 4-6 weeks due to a broken thumb.
Buchnevich suffered the injury during the Rangers' 5-4 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
The 23-year-old wing has recorded five goals and four assists through 14 games this season.
Buchnevich missed eight games last season.
