Luis Severino was cooking in the American League Wild-Card Game.

Severino tossed four shutout innings. He surrendered two hits, struck out seven batters and walked four.

He consistently reached the upper 90's, overpowering Oakland batters.

Severino became the first Yankee to strike out at least seven batters while allowing zero runs in winner-take-all postseason game.

The 24-year-old right-hander was under pressure to find his groove after a poor second half. He was replaced by Dellin Betances.

Severino finished the regular season with a 19-8 record and a 3.39 ERA in 32 appearances.

He put together a strong first half, before running into trouble in the second half. Severino was 14-2 at the All-Star break with a 2.31 ERA. He went 5-6 with a 5.57 ERA following the All-Star break.

The Yankees went on to win the game 7-2 and will face the Boston Red Sox in the ALDS starting Friday night.
